Every Great Journey begins with just one step….

Hey everyone, welcome aboard! I’m excited to kick off this new blog, “Learning to Grow,” though we’re still a bit away from going live. I’m Rob, and this is my spot, “Rob’s Corner,” where I’ll be sharing updates and insights as I dive into new challenges. Before we launch, we’re stocking up on some solid content, so stay tuned.

Just down the virtual hall, you’ll find “Tes’ Corner” — be sure to give it a look for a different flavor of content. But let’s jump into the heart of today’s post.

I’m stepping into the world of game development with my first serious project: Dead Man’s Hand. It’s a big leap from my usual web design and Python programming, but I’m eager to get into it. I’ll be using Godot 4, advancing from my experience with Godot 3, and following a step-by-step roguelike tutorial which you can find here.

Switching gears like this is no small feat, especially with a full schedule, but I’m ready for the challenge. I’ll also be using GPT-4 to help me navigate through the more tricky parts of this project. This AI tool will be my sidekick, helping answer questions and solve problems as they come up.

I plan to share all the highs and lows with you right here. Your feedback would be awesome, and maybe you’ll even pick up a thing or two to try out yourself.

Keep an eye out for our official launch and more updates soon. Your input will make this journey even more worthwhile.

Catch you later!
